Trellis

Last spring (2022), I and six other students got interested in plants and self care. So… we developed a plant care startup, Trellis. And after some IP research, over 200 customer interviews, a business plan, and many more hours of product design and marketing… we put together what we think is an awesome product that could help a lot of people reduce their stress around what we think should be a stress-free activity.

And it paid off. I'm proud to say we won 1st place in the Spring Projects Expo (out of 62 teams)! Pictured above is our team.


Trellis is basically a smart home plant monitor with a custom-built plant sensor and integrated phone application that live updates and displays plants' information to a customer's device. Trellis monitors light, soil moisture, and temperature, and the application allows users to track those data points, compare to healthy plant pictures, and speak with plant experts.
